MT4 vs MT5 for Expert Advisors
Both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 support Expert Advisors. The correct choice depends on the EA you intend to run, broker/platform availability, testing needs and whether the vendor supplies the appropriate build.

Start with compatibility
Confirm that the EA package explicitly supports your chosen platform. MT4 and MT5 use different program formats, so an EA build is not interchangeable simply because both products are called MetaTrader.
Testing matters
MetaTrader 5 includes Strategy Tester functionality for backtesting and forward testing. Whatever platform you use, document your assumptions and avoid treating optimized historical results as future expectations.
